an apple a day keeps the doctor away and , sure enough there’s a whole pharmacy of amazing ingredients hiding in and under that peel.

apples are a source pf carbohydrates, including fibre and vitamins and minerals but break it down further there are around 300 different phytochemical packed into that little sphere. As well as feeding our gut bacteria with all the fibres and various phytochemical each apple has also been shown to contain some 100 million bacteria of its own too. So eating an apple may very well make our gut microbes abundant and diverse in more ways than one.
